Job Summary
The Music Accompanist position is a part-time, non-benefitted position that serves as an Education Support Staff for the music department with primary responsibilities serving as an accompanist to the choirs, student performances, and private lesson instruction. This position is part time and non-benefitted.
Compensation: $24.94/hr. depending upon directly related experience.
Priority Screening Date: Position is open until filled.
Starting Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process.
Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA's
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).
- Regularly attend scheduled rehearsals or lesson time to perform accompaniment duties.
- Attend all scheduled performances in appropriate attire.
- Perform at a high caliber that is reflective of the high LCCC music standard.
- Clearly communicate in a timely manner with faculty, students and other support staff regarding collaboration on schedules, events, and department needs.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student success.
Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:- Interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions
- Frequently move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities while performing the essential duties of this position
- Engage in multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to perform essential position functions
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds

Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated piano proficiency with excellent sight reading skills.
- Experience in performing with groups in a wide variety of musical selections.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced music skills with 3-5 years of accompaniment experience.
- Experience performing in multiple musical genres and working with music students.
- Ability to lead vocal warm ups and rehearse a choir sectional preferred.
