SUMMARY: The Secondary (7-12) English Language Arts (ELA) Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for ELA activities in accordance with applicable District, State, and Federal policies related to academic content at the classroom and District levels. This role involves implementing program components, creating long and short-term program goals, and providing recommendations for ELA expenditures. The coordinator responds to issues and inquiries from school district administrators, parents, and educators regarding educational reform, curriculum changes, school improvement efforts, benchmark activities, instructional objectives, and program evaluation.
Additionally, the Coordinator directs the development, selection, evaluation, and implementation of instructional programs and materials, and develops, implements, and coordinates a guaranteed viable ELA curriculum for 7-12. They implement research-based leadership, maximize two-way communication, and monitor programs to ensure quality, fidelity, intensity, and consistency, thereby improving program efficiency and effectiveness. The ELA Coordinator serves as a resource to District personnel by providing support and guidance based on subject area knowledge and experience.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Masters degree in job-related area.
- Preferred courses or certification in school leadership.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Job-related experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility.
