Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing administrative support, managing patient records, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of medical terminology and office management practices. Knowledge of Brightree Software is a tremendous advantage.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain accurate health information management by updating patient records in electronic health record systems such as Allscripts-One Content and Brightree.
- Medical Billing, Coding and the knowledge of collecting payments from Insurance and/ or Patients!
- Provide medical administrative support including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to streamline office workflows and enhance patient care services.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as Brightree, One Content-All-Scripts is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Home Medical Equipment terminology and experience with Brightree Billing Software is a plus.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Solid understanding of health information management principles.
- Experience in medical office management or administrative support roles is preferred.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain attention to detail in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with office management practices, Medical Billing and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
