Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair, and/or Dean of Workforce Education, Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs and in which the instructor has appropriate qualifications. Use up-to-date discipline and pedagogical skills to ensure active participation and learning by students

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Stay current of changes that occur in discipline. Participate in departmental initiatives to infuse changes into curriculum. Participate in interdisciplinary discussions which are directed at improving student learning and evaluating core competencies curriculum.
- Prepare for first day of class, distribute syllabi which informs students about course and grading requirements, absence policy, and other pertinent information for each course assigned.
- Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to inform students about their progress and to provide opportunities which will allow students to succeed.
- Maintain ASE Diesel certifications in areas to be taught.
- Use Canvas as the LMS and Gradebook.
- Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials, and classrooms.
- Encourage use of support services by students. Collaborate with support services staff to ensure that appropriate information is being shared and discussed.
- Teach day, evening, and Duals as required. Meet all assigned classes on time in the assigned rooms or lab and be available to students 15 minutes before and after class.
- Respond to requests for information from the Dean or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Follow procedures related to the Registration Office, including grade reports and deadlines; attendance record reports; withdrawal deadlines; class changes; and time and room scheduling.
- Counsel students and notify student counselors of frequent absences, failures, or required make-up work.
- Substitute for colleagues when necessary.
- Promote the College’s Programs and curricula.
- Follow the academic calendar and other policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Trustees.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Department Chair and/or Dean of Workforce Education, or Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Required:
- Candidate must have High School Diploma or GED.
- ASE Diesel Certification with major in teaching field.
- 5 Years work experience in the teaching field.
- ASE Diesel Certification in area of instruction.
Preferred:
- ASE Master Diesel Certification.
- Should have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Should be able to work with various types of audio/visual equipment and software.
- Should have a good working knowledge of maintaining student records and dealing with sensitive information.
