The Student Life Coordinator is responsible for creating, managing, and promoting programs and activities that enhance the overall student experience for both Ft. McIntosh and South Campuses. This position fosters a vibrant campus community by coordinating events, supporting student organizations, and encouraging student engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about student development, highly organized, and skilled at building relationships across a diverse student population.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute campus events and activities, including welcome weeks, cultural events, wellness programs, and recreational activities.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external vendors to deliver quality programming.
- Manage event logistics such as securing venues, coordinating vendors, and overseeing marketing efforts.
- Serve as departmental support for student organizations, providing guidance on event planning, budgeting, and leadership development.
- Facilitate training for student leaders and organization officers.
- Assist in maintaining records of active student organizations, their events, and membership rosters.
- Assist in the development of the community service program.
- Develop initiatives to increase student participation in campus activities and traditions.
- Conduct surveys or focus groups to assess student satisfaction and engagement.
- Monitor and manage budgets for assigned programs and events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and program effectiveness for reporting purposes.
- Oversee social media, newsletters, and other communication platforms to promote student life activities.
- Assist in the management of the Palomino Pantry and its associated tasks and responsibilities.
- Assist in the management of the Laredo College Meal Plan and its associated tasks and responsibilities.
- Maintain office records as required for the Office of Student Life. Records may include but are not limited to purchase orders, requisitions, pay schedules, and other documents.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life and/or Assistant Director of Student Life.

Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1–2 years of experience in student programming, event planning, or a similar role.
- Master’s Degree.
- Strong Organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the student population and campus community.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings, in varied locations, and occasional weekends to support special events and other campus activities.
- Knowledge of student development and best practices in student affairs.
- Familiarity with student leadership development programs.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to student affairs.
- Must count with a valid driver’s license and be fit to operate a variety of motorized vehicles.
