Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
The Dir Medical Staff Credentialing is responsible for planning, developing and organizing the operations of the Medical Staff Office. Responsibilities includes the credentialing of practitioners (physicians and allied health professionals). This includes oversight of credentialing, privileging, bylaws and policy development, medical staff committee and peer review support, continuing medical education (CME), and compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory standards. The director also schedules and maintains minutes of the Medical Staff meetings; drafting the Emergency On-Call schedules; and serves as liaison between the Medical Staff, Quality Department, Administration and other Hospital Departments as deemed appropriate. Works under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
Education: Required: Associates Degree Preferred: Bachelors degree in health care administration, business administration, or a related field. Computer skills are required and medical terminology is preferred.
Experience: Three to five years of Administrative Assistant experience with a minimum of two years experience in hospital medical secretarial background preferred, including proficiency in word processing. Superior organizational skills; strong communication skills, attention to detail; ability to prioritize projects; excellent time management skills; and self motivated. Must also be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
