Join our team! Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Postpartum unit is now hiring a Unit Secretary/ HUC to work in our fast paced Postpartum department at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department is a secure, 34 bed unit in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This units report directly to the Director of Women’s services. Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires a high school diploma with no experience required. 2 or more years of administrative support experience in a medical setting is preferred. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Required: Ability to type and perform computer data entry.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Preferred: Current National Certification as a Health Unit Coordinator.
- Two Letters of Recommendation.
- Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
