What are the responsibilities and job description for the Artificial Lift Tech position at Laredo Petroleum?
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Applies general understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures and has a basic knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to the oil and gas industry
- Shoot fluid levels on assigned wells and document findings and distribute information to proper departments
- Maintain proper operations, troubleshoot and adjust all POC's to optimize production
- Assist with rod, tubing designs and artificial lift equipment to minimize failure rates
- Install and maintain automation equipment on producing wells and vessels
- Identify problems and / or recommend courses of action to supervisor in order to decrease costs and increase production
- Perform work in a manner that ensures the secure and environmentally safe operation of all wells assigned for which Artificial Lift Technician is responsible
- Conduct other tasks as required by supervisor, which are unique to the assigned geographic area

Salary is commensurate with experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Work is normally performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat / cold, fumes and gases is common. Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, and trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. Overtime is sometimes required. Must be available for on-call.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50 to 75 pound objects such as tools, equipment work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods sometimes over rough terrain. May be required to fit test and perform duties wearing SCBA and WBA.
