Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed takeoffs and utilize historical data to prepare accurate project estimates.
- Ensure that files and documents related to estimates are organized and include accurate supplier pricing, market trends, and other relevant information.
- Prepare and deliver detailed reports, bid packages, and project insights to field personnel for awarded bids.
- Provide recommendations on design alternatives, considering cost, material availability, and engineering quality.
- Uphold and enforce company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Take ownership of estimating mid- to large-scale projects with minimal supervision.
- Work closely with management, vendors, and internal/external teams to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction estimating.
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training/experience.
- Proficiency in estimating and bidding software.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
- Exceptional skills in leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organization.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with professionalism in interacting with all stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, market trends, and construction methodologies.
- Experience in large-scale construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency with specific estimating software tools.
- Certifications in construction management or a related field.
