Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze steel structures, concrete foundations, and other structural components for high-voltage substations.
- Develop structural calculations and ensure designs comply with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, project managers, and drafting personnel to ensure seamless integration of structural designs.
- Provide QA/QC reviews of structural designs to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and promoting skill development within the team.
- Lead and coordinate structural engineering tasks across multiple substation design projects.
- Prepare technical specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates for structural components.
- Develop and review structural engineering deliverables, including drawings, calculations, and material specifications.
- Ensure adherence to client standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements for substation designs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, providing technical input, cost estimates, and feasibility analysis for potential projects.
- Assist in project reporting, status updates, and client communication.
- Conduct site visits as needed to support project planning, construction, or troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in occasional client meetings and site inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering (BSCE) or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience, specifically within substation or utility projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
- Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as Risa3D, STAAD Pro, or equivalent software.
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with U.S. building codes and industry standards for structural and substation engineering.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
