What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Victims Unit Attorney (DDA III or IV) position at Larimer County?

What you'll be doing:
- Reviewing felony case filing materials, carefully examining evidence, witness statements, and the nature of the crime to make independent decisions on whether to continue prosecution.
- Conducting legal research and preparing reports, helping to shape recommendations for the District Attorney's Office policies, procedures, and operations.
- Representing the County in felony-level criminal proceedings, including case scheduling, plea negotiations, probation revocation hearings, motions, and sentencing hearings.
- Prosecuting cases in both jury and court trials, ensuring justice is pursued effectively and efficiently.

Deputy District Attorney III
- Deputy District Attorney III positions are generally filled by the advancement of a Deputy District Attorney II or similarly qualified candidate.
- Equivalent to a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.
- Current license to practice law in Colorado, or obtain it within two (2) months of hire required.
- Deputy District Attorney IV positions are generally filled by the advancement of a Deputy District Attorney III or similarly qualified candidate.
- Equivalent to a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Colorado.
