Junior Estimator
LaRiviere, Inc. is looking for a motivated junior estimator to work with the estimating team.
Experience with heavy civil work (roads, bridges, water & sewer installations) is preferred. This position has excellent growth opportunity.
Key responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Experience- 3 years field and construction office preferred.
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Help identify projects to bid, perform initial review for potential fit.
- Create individual RFQ for each project with project specific details, email 1 RFQ to BCC recipients, update original RFQ with addendums and final deadline
- Help update and maintain contact information for external clients, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, etc.
- Become efficient with all information sources, public and private plan rooms, legal notices, government-transportation-state-county-city websites etc.
- Proficient use of estimating software – BlueBeam and B2W Estimate
- Appropriate project communication with Engineers, Architects, Owners as needed
- Analyze plans and specifications to understand the scope of work
- Quantity take-offs
- Calculate the cost of materials, crew labor, equipment and other operational expenses to properly determine the cost of the project
- Assist with anything required to complete a successful bid proposal.

Work Environment:
- Reads blueprints and specs.
- Writes technical and professional reports and correspondence using proper spelling, grammar and style.

- May involve lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. for short periods of time
- Must have visual acuity to see and read paper and electronic documents.
- Ability to climb stairs
- Sits for long periods of time, walking job sites, stand, bend, stoop, reach, climb carry and lift for carrying periods.
- Requires continuous and repetitive arm-hand-eye movement
