Job Title: Food Runner & Busser
Status: Full-time, Part-time
Pay Rate: $8-10/hour, non-exempt (Range of $12-$20/hr is inclusive of expected tips)
Location: Aldie, VA
Who We Are: Lark Brewing Co. is a new farm brewery located in Northern Virginia. Our brewery boasts an expansive indoor taproom, two scenic outdoor pavilions, private event spaces, and an exclusive club membership experience. We are dedicated to providing exceptional craft beer and food, coupled with memorable experiences for our patrons.
The primary responsibility of the Runner/Busser is to deliver food from the kitchen to guests as quickly and efficiently as possible to ensure great guest experiences.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen to guests in a timely and organized manner utilizing key information on kitchen tickets including table/and or outdoor pavilion location.
- Read and re-review kitchen tickets to ensure quality and accuracy of all orders.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience, ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service and checking with customers to make sure they have everything they need each time you arrive at a table.
- Maintains excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc. Is adaptable to customer needs.
- Assist servers, bartenders, etc. with customer service as needed.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to Manager/Kitchen staff immediately.
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas and assisting to maintain the overall cleanliness.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards throughout the facility.
- Clear tables after guests leave, including trash, and takes tableware, dishes, glassware, etc. to appropriate areas for washing.
- Adheres to Lark Brewing Co.’s safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation.
- Assists kitchen staff as needed, with stocking and maintaining appropriate levels of product
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with kitchen staff and customers.
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food orders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks .
- Requires constant standing and walking.
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive experience for customers.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting during set up and execution of service.
- Willingness and drive to exceed the guest expectations.
- Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisor.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a smile.
- Previous experience in catering, restaurants, hotels, or other food service/hospitality establishments is preferred but not required.
