Job Title : Charge Registered NursePosition SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Charge RN to join our Behavioral Health team. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a psychiatric mental health setting, ensuring that all nursing practices comply with professional standards and hospital protocols.Qualifications : Education :
- Requirement : Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).Experience :
- Preferred : At least 1-3 years of experience in psychiatric nursingCertifications / Licenses :
- Required : Current Florida RN License.
- Required : BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- Required : CPI certification
- Preferred : Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.Professional Development : .
- Maintain required licenses / certifications, including Florida RN License, BLS certification and CPI Certification.
- Complete the Department of Children and Families (DCF) online Baker Act Training modules and indicated on instruction form given upon hire and submit certificates for each.
- Obtain Board Certification as a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN-BC) if applicable within 1 year of hire if eligible.Key Responsibilities : Patient Assessment and Documentation :
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients on admission and throughout their stay.
- Develop and implement patient-specific treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and responses in accordance with hospital policy.Medication Administration :
- Administer medications as prescribed, including PRN medications.
- Monitor patients for side effects and effectiveness of medications.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and patient reactions.Patient Rights and Advocacy :
- Treat all patients with dignity and respect, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Ensure patients understand their rights, informed consent, and treatment options.
- Act as a patient advocate and provide non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care.Supervision and Teamwork :
- Supervise and provide guidance to support staff, including Mental Health Technicians and other nursing personnel.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess and plan patient care.Emergency Response :
- Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies, demonstrating strong decision-making under pressure.
- Manage challenging patient behaviors, including de-escalation techniques and maintaining safety in the unit.Work Schedule :
