Job Title: Litigation Assistant - Calendaring
Type of Position: Full-time
Hours: M-F Flexible
Location: LHP Headquarters - Long Beach, CA. (2 days in Office)
Pay: $21/hr.- $32/hr.
Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Attention to Detail
- Accuracy in calendaring court deadlines, hearings, discovery, and filings.
- Double-checking dates to avoid missed deadlines.
- Light paralegal tasks such as preparing declarations, case management statements, posting jury fees, and checking tentative rulings and dockets.
- Arranging coverage and scheduling remote appearances.
- Understanding of statutory deadlines
- Coordinate and maintain the pre-litigation team calendar, ensuring timely scheduling or pre-litigation matters, mail processing, and discovery deadlines.
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Keeping track of various court rules and procedures
- Maintaining the calendar master list update.
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Clear and professional communication with attorneys, clients, and court staff
- Following up on deadlines with the legal teams
- Proactive & Problem-Solving Ability
- Anticipating upcoming deadlines and potential conflicts
- Addressing scheduling issues before they become a problem
- Reliability & Accountability
- Consistently meeting deadlines and ensuring the firm stays compliant
- Taking responsibility for any errors and resolving them promptly
