What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Construction Estimator position at Larson-Danielson Construction?
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications and addendums
- Accurately estimate labor hours, material quantities and equipment needs, and then price accordingly for concrete, masonry, earthwork and carpentry for hard-bid projects, as well as, design-build projects
- Solicit subcontractor/material supplier pricing for all divisions of work per project requirements
- Be capable of competitively bidding commercial construction projects ranging in size from $500K-$5M or above
Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics
- Must be a team player, detail-oriented with strong computer skills and be able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
- 2 years of experience in commercial estimating of both public and private projects
- Demonstrate prioritization, organization and time management skills
- Ability to interact with Director of Estimating, Estimating Manager, Architects, Designers and Owners
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and work independently with minimal supervision
- Willing to work 45 hours per week on a regular basis
