Job Title: Senior BSA Officer
Location: Portland, Oregon
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 Base 15-20% Bonus

A Senior BSA Officer is needed to join the team and play a pivotal role in managing and strengthening BSA/AML and fraud risk strategies.
Position Overview:
The Senior BSA Officer will work closely with both the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Risk Officer to provide leadership and oversight in BSA/AML compliance, with a strong focus on risk assessments and bridging the gap between BSA and fraud operations. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, a solid understanding of risk assessment protocols, and the ability to collaborate across departments to mitigate financial crime risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee BSA/AML compliance activities, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough risk assessments, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with the Fraud team to integrate BSA compliance and fraud prevention strategies effectively.
Assist the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Risk Officer in developing and implementing risk management policies and procedures.
Provide expertise and guidance to staff on regulatory changes and emerging risks in financial crime.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of BSA/AML and fraud-related controls and processes.
Lead investigations related to suspicious activity and ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
Develop and deliver training on BSA/AML and fraud prevention to internal stakeholders.
Support audits and examinations by internal and external regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
Strong understanding of risk assessment frameworks and the ability to assess and mitigate operational and financial risks.
Proven ability to bridge gaps between BSA compliance and fraud prevention, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations governing BSA/AML, including the USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN, and related guidelines.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior leadership.
Experience working directly with legal and risk departments to develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies.
CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or similar certification preferred.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field (advanced degree or certifications are a plus).
