Overview: We are looking for a dynamic EHS Counsel to join our Legal team. This role will be pivotal in supporting our Environmental, Health, Safety, Security & Quality organization, providing expert guidance on regulatory requirements for our global operations. The focus will be on major federal environmental laws (e.g., TSCA, CERCLA, RCRA, CAA) and food, drug, and cosmetic laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer practical, well-informed legal advice on environmental and chemical inventory laws applicable to our global business and products.
- Negotiate favorable, flexible terms in contracts and permits.
- Engage with state and federal agencies during inspections and enforcement actions.
- Provide training on evolving global food and drug regulatory requirements.
- Support due diligence and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
- Promote regulatory, commercial, and operational excellence.
- Advise on potential environmental, health, and safety issues, mitigation options, regulatory compliance, and remedial issues related to legacy liabilities.
- Deliver regulatory, environmental, health, and safety counseling and training.
Qualifications:
- Admission to at least one bar and in good standing.
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 8 years of relevant legal experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a government agency, law firm, trade association, or corporate legal department handling environmental regulatory compliance and enforcement, and/or food, drug, and cosmetics compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of US federal and state environmental laws, rulemaking, enforcement processes, and food, drug, and cosmetics regulatory systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to non-lawyers.
- Experience with TSCA and other global chemical control laws.
- Proficiency in non-English languages.
- Experience with EPA, DOJ, or other government agencies.

Salary : $180,000 - $220,000
