Job Summary: My clients are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Environmental Attorney to join their legal team in Washington D.C. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice on environmental laws and regulations, represent clients in environmental litigation & advice and counsel. This role requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, regulations such as CERCLA. RCRA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, FIFRA, & OSHA, excellent advocacy skills, and a passion for environmental justice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and interpret environmental laws and regulations.
- Represent clients in environmental litigation cases.
- Advise businesses and organizations on compliance with environmental regulations.
- Draft and review legal documents related to environmental policies and transactions.
- Participate in public hearings and community meetings.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists and other experts.
- Prepare and deliver arguments in court on behalf of clients.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 2-10 years of experience practicing environmental law
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Candidates with experience working with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA/Superfund, TSCA, RCRA, FIFRA, or OSHA will be strongly considered.
- Experience working with government agencies or law firms will be strong considered.
- Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Proven track record of successful environmental litigation.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and audits.
