Position Summary
Responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for the patients as part of our dining services, and to assure that quality service is provided at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supervises cooking team members and ensures proper safety and sanitation procedures for the entire kitchen area
2. Responsible for assisting in providing and maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment. Advanced knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices
3. Supervises team member(s) engaged in preparing or serving food
4. Prepares hot entrees, soups and vegetables following preparation sheets and provided recipes for dining room service, healthcare center, cafeteria and special functions
5. Keeps current with trends in food preparation, including new recipes, presentation and merchandising techniques
6. Responsible for hot food preparation including accompaniments and garnishes 7. Does advance preparation as indicated
8. Completes preparation records and stores food items properly at close of meal service
9. Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling technique
10. Ensures that all hot food preparation and assembling is done in accordance with established procedures
Required Education / Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a culinary role or a certificate / degree from a Culinary Institution
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a cook / chef role
Food Handlers Certificate
