Activities Director

Overview
The Activities Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and nursing home settings. This position involves planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical well-being, and emotional support for individuals, including those with disabilities. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, staff, and families to create a vibrant community atmosphere that fosters connection and joy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
• Organize recreational therapy sessions that focus on enhancing physical, cognitive, and emotional health.
• Facilitate social events and outings that encourage community engagement and participation.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with residents' care plans and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and assess their effectiveness.
• Train and supervise volunteers or activity aides in delivering programs.
• Foster an inclusive environment for all residents, including those with disabilities.

Skills

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
• Experience in home community care or long-term care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and practices.
• Familiarity with social work concepts related to elder care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Compassionate approach towards working with people with disabilities.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
• Understanding of the unique needs of residents in assisted living or nursing home environments.

Education:

• Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

• Senior Living Activities: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Prescott, Arizona (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Prescott, Arizona: Relocate before starting work (Required)
