Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Veterinary Technician who is obsessed with cats to join our team. In this role, you play a vital role in delivering high-quality veterinary care to the feline species while working alongside veterinarians and other team members. Located in a community-focused environment, this position is essential for supporting veterinarians in clinical procedures and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during exams and surgeries.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and cytology.
- Take radiographs (X-rays) and assist in the interpretation of results.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Monitor feline patients during anesthesia, the recovery period and hospitalization.
- Educate clients on animal care and medical procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and files for each patient.
- Ensure a clean, organized and safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Handle cats safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain a calm, peaceful working environment.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent.
- Certification: Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).
- Experience: 1 years of experience in a veterinary setting (preferred).
- Ability to handle and restrain cats safely with compassion and respect.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in performing X-rays and other diagnostic tests.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude toward animals and clients.
