- Deliver Outstanding Purchasing Results:
- Perform and direct work through planning, negotiating, advising senior management, and representing the LVCVA through acquiring and administering contracts for various goods and services.
- Oversee fair and unbiased procurement programs.
- Contribute to the strategy and execution of the LVCVA’s efforts to procure from local, small, women-owned, disadvantaged, and minority businesses.
- Lead An Extraordinary Team:
- Lead and make decisions in the Director’s absence to ensure operations run smoothly and meet organizational requirements.
- Facilitate department activities that achieve a high level of customer service.
- Lead assigned staff by setting measurable goals, evaluating performance, and providing constant feedback for success. Recognize individual exceptional achievement against goals.
- Elevate Department Processes and Service Levels:
- Facilitate informational meetings and presentations on processes and systems for procuring goods and services with departments and vendors.
- Provide subject matter expertise to the Purchasing function of the organization.
- Execute system and process improvement opportunities.
- Participate in strategic initiatives, including identifying opportunities for cost savings and increased competitive procurement to achieve best value procurement.
- Prepare, review, and approve written correspondence, reports, procedures, and other documents that provide appropriate resources for organizationally informed decision-making.
- Ensure Compliance:
- Confer with senior management regarding purchasing and compliance and implement decisions.
- Contribute to the enforcement of contract deliverables and terms and conditions.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve escalated issues, ensuring timely communication and effective solutions.
- Ensure processes, controls, and actions comply with the regulatory guidelines for government purchasing under the Nevada Revised Statutes.
- Lead operational implementation of audit recommendations.
- Assist with oversight of departmental budget preparation and monitor all department spending.
- Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations related to public agency procurement and utilize to ensure organizational compliance.
- High School Diploma is required, a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a comparable field of study is preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading a team in a department procurement function, preferably in a public agency setting
- Knowledgeable in Nevada Revised Statutes that apply to government purchasing
- Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with using the Nevada Government e-marketplace (NGEM)
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, customer service, and verbal/written communication skills
- Demonstrates a commitment to valuing differences among individuals and a passion for being inclusive
- Ability to analyze and evaluate issues, resolve problems, and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to drive results under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines

- Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP)

Salary : $91,800 - $126,200
