What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Intern position at Las Vegas Lights FC?
Position Summary
The Communications Intern is responsible for assisting the Communications department’s day-to-day storytelling efforts and administrative items on both matchday and non-matchday.
This is a part-time, paid internship.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with creation and execution of social content across multiple platforms.
- Help maintain the Las Vegas Lights FC website, including week-to-week administrative updates.
- Contribute and support with all written materials, including website editorial, press releases, game notes, email copy, and social copy.
- Manage a regular schedule of social, website, and earned media performance analysis to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Brainstorm new content ideas and keep up to date with current social trends.
- Assist with matchday media operations, including credentialing, post-match media availability, and setup/teardown.
- Assist stadium operations as needed on both non-matchdays and matchdays with setup/teardown requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively.
- Desire to tell effective stories through a variety of mediums.
- Detail-oriented.
- Intrinsically motivated and strong self-starter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the soccer, sports, and/or entertainment industry.
- Strong writing & editing skills.
Essential Functions:
- Must be available for all Las Vegas Lights FC home matches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Punctuality, accountability, and keen attention to detail in each duty.
- Ability to work independently and in a group while handling several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to react quickly and positively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information carefully and with discretion.
- Strong storytelling ability (written and/or visual).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
- Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
