The Deputy will assist with maintaining global health, humanitarian aid & disaster culture and ensure compliance with Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s, governmental, and other applicable guidelines.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Will report to the VP and augment responsibilities including family practice and emergency medicine in the USA and abroad.
- Prescribe and administer medications under the direction of the Medical Director, Medaire, or any of our Physicians who are entrusted to provide medical assistance.
- Respond to executives and owners’ home for callouts as this position is on call 24/7.
- Collaborates with representatives from risk-focused functions at the company, such as Legal, Risk Management, Security, Aviation, and Executive Protection to lead appropriate risk management strategies.
- Serves as a member of the company's emergency planning and response efforts and participates in deliberations for the company's emergency response executive group and the company’s emergency operations center.
- Liaisons with local, state, and federal authorities implementing risk management plans, policies, procedures, and manuals following state and federal regulatory requirements for risk management, emergency management, environmental health and safety, emergency and clinical medicine.
- Advocates for company’s team members in medical emergencies which require being seen by a medical professional, clinic, hospitalization, and/or repatriation, accompanies patients on medical evacuations, and conducts logistical support including interfacing with customs, immigration, and local authorities.
- Assess each medical situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol.
- Attend to injuries or illnesses by applying a variety of pre-hospital treatment; first aid, CPR, administering injections and/or oxygen, etc.
- Utilize medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, and other procedures and medications required to provide advanced medical care.
- Read medication/prescription labels and directions for usage in a quick, accurate and expedient manner.
- Travels globally to support health, safety, and security functions.
- Instruct/train other departments on health, safety and security functions.
- Consistent and regular attendance and adherence to safety is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
- Master’s degree in medicine: Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and licensed in NV.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. ER, Cardiac or Pediatrics experience preferred.
- Current medical certifications include ACLS, Remote Medical Practitioner (or equivalent), BLS, PALS and BLS instructor certification.
- Ability to train team members on program planning, improvement processes, emergency medicine and advanced security measures, including travel safety.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver’s License and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. passport and be able to travel at least 50% of the time, both domestically and overseas.
- Able to work comfortably in a team setting as well as independently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other team members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to:
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Body drags of 200 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Will be required to keep a professional and groomed appearance and meet department standards.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
