Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Senior Engineer - Command Center Operations is the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure within the Command Center. The Senior Engineer focuses on ensuring network performance, availability, and security, troubleshooting complex network issues, and optimizing network systems.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor network, server, and system performance using monitoring tools.
- Design and implement network solutions to meet business requirements.
- Configure and deploy network hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Ensure network redundancy and disaster recovery.
- Monitor network performance and availability using advanced network monitoring tools.
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and hardware replacements.
- Perform network audits and assessments to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security breaches.
- Act as an escalation point for Command Center technicians and other IT staff.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in detail.
- Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply security patches as needed.
- Analyze network performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Propose and implement enhancements to increase network efficiency and reliability.
- Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and best practices.
- Work closely with other IT teams, such as server administrators and application developers, to support overall IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and training to Command Center staff and other IT personnel.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding network status, incidents, and project progress.
- Work closely with Engineers and act as a mentor.
- Work closely with Shift Manager and may require filling in as needed.
- Perform job duties in a safe manner.
- Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 5-10 years demonstrated experience in network engineering, preferably within a Command Center environment.
- Hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and technologies (e.g., VLANs, VPNs, QoS).
- Proficiency with network hardware and software from vendors such as Cisco, CheckPoint, Aruba and F5.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP) are highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be available to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage.
