Director of Audit

Our client, a Healthcare organization, located in the Nashville area; is in need of a full-time Director of IT Audit. The pay range for this role is around $150,000 annually. This position is remote, but prefers candidate to be local or willing to relocate to Nashville. The Director of IT Audit leads the internal audit team in evaluating risks, monitoring internal controls, and executing the annual audit plan. The department conducts a diverse range of audits, including financial, operational, compliance, IT, and controls-based projects. This role is an excellent opportunity to build on public accounting or internal audit experience, providing a pathway to further career growth in audit or other organizational roles.

Director of IT Audit Responsibilities:

• Assess and enhance internal control frameworks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting
• Lead and manage team members, including assigning projects, reviewing work, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Prepare and oversee clear, actionable audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and management responses
• Collaborate with the Vice President of Internal Audit to prioritize tasks, balance workloads, and promote teamwork and professional development
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively to management and stakeholders
• Partner with management on special assignments, including accounting issues, compliance initiatives, operational projects, and due diligence efforts
• Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders (hospital management, corporate leadership, audit committees) and external entities (auditors, consultants)

Director of IT Audit Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• CPA certification preferred
• 8 years of experience in public accounting or internal auditing
• Strong preference for candidates with healthcare industry experience
• Proven experience developing and implementing internal control frameworks

• Demonstrated success in managing audit plans, including planning, testing, and reporting, with a focus on process improvement
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to generate and communicate effective solutions
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
• Exceptional communication skills for presenting results to business leaders and executive teams
• Adaptability in a dynamic environment and ability to work collaboratively with teams
• Positive attitude and commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as required
