Patient Financial Services Representative

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Financial Services Representative to join our clients' team. This role is crucial in assisting patients with billing inquiries, processing financial documentation, and ensuring a smooth front-desk experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate medical billing processes with professionalism and empathy.

Patient Financial Services Representative Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding billing concerns and payment options
• Deliver friendly and professional customer service to address patient inquiries in person and over the phone
• Manage front-desk operations in the registration area, providing support to both patients and staff
• Retrieve medical records and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) as necessary
• Process and file rebills while maintaining accurate financial documentation
• Assist walk-in patients by addressing billing and payment-related questions
• Clearly explain financial obligations and payment details to patients
• Complete prior authorization tasks to facilitate patient care
• Handle medical record requests and patient inquiries without productivity tracking constraints
• Maintain an organized workload, managing approximately 32-37 accounts per day (or 4 per hour)
  
  

Patient Financial Services Representative Requirements:

• Prior experience in medical billing, patient financial services, front-desk operations, or healthcare administration preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, medical billing software, and insurance processes
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations to patients regarding financial matters
