Project Accountant

LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading construction group in Nashville, TN. Our client has a great direct hire opportunity for a Project Accountant. This position is 100% on-site. The Project Accountant will have a variety of responsibilities and must be able to prioritize tasks as necessary. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills.

Project Accountant Responsibilities:

• Responsible for monthly project billings including gathering and reviewing of subcontractor pay applications, commitments and invoices, as well as the compilation of owner billings
• Point of contact for subcontractors and vendors
• Work closely with the accounting team
• Understanding AIA G702 and G703 or equivalent
• Ensure a steady cash flow by routinely auditing and reviewing A/R aging and support project managers with collections activities
• Attend project kick-off meetings and review contracts for financial matters such as billing requirements, change order procedures, reimbursable vs. non-reimbursable costs, allowable mark-ups, fee structure and retainage requirements
• Work with Project Managers verify job setup information is correctly mapped to GL and Customer Accounts and to resolve errors
• Daily collaboration with project managers
• Assist project managers with project cost reporting
• Gathering risk management documentation such as bonds, risk mitigation compliance, insurance certificates and subcontractor default insurance data entry
• Contacting subcontractors and vendors while pursuing project specific financial information
• Collaborating with financial institutions

Project Accountant Requirements:

• 2 years project accounting experience is required
• A thorough knowledge of standard contract terms
• Proficient in Excel
• Vista Viewpoint, Sage, Procore software or equivalent experience desired
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to take ownership of projects with high-quality results
• Construction background preferred but open to any industry
