WHO YOU CAN BECOME: The Medical Transporter/Health Office Technician is a full-time, 40 hour a week, non-exempt, hourly position who is responsible for safely transporting students to and from medical appointments, relay pertinent information to and from the medical provider, and support the youth to successfully engage in the activities of the appointment. This individual will assist with the overall functioning of infirmary operations, particularly the non-nursing tasks. Must be able to manage time, multitask, and work well with others. May be required to at times be asked to complete medicine supervision/administration.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Safely transport students to and from medical appointments.
- Perform other duties may include assistance with laundry, medical errands, and general Health Office maintenance.
- Communicate pertinent information effectively to and from medical provider and LaSalle nursing staff.
- Assist with the care of students in Health Office as well as assisting with non-nursing duties.
- Assist with maintaining clerical tasks and file management.
- Assist with maintaining designated amount of stock supplies and assisting in ordering process.
- Assist with Medicine Supervision and administration as requested.
- Other duties may include assistance with laundry and medical errands.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- High School diploma
- Experience supervising and working with adolescents with mental health and behavioral issues.
- Clean driving record, active NYS driver’s license.
WHO ARE YOU:
- General knowledge and proficiency of computer data entry.
- Aware of confidentiality guidelines related to personal and medical information.
- Self-directed and demonstrated good time management.
- Strong organizational, and effective communication skills.
- Able to de-escalate emotionally charged students.
- Able to use Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies to support a student’s positive functioning.
- Able to safely transport one or several youths to off campus sites as scheduled.
- Able to participate as a contributing member of a team.
- Aware of confidentiality guidelines related to personal and medical information.
WHAT WE OFFER:
