Job Summary
The position is responsible for the creation, management, and organization of web content for Illinois Human Resources (IHR), by serving as the accessibility expert for IHR, ensuring that all web content is accessible to all users. This position provides writing and editing support for IHR's website, playing a crucial role in enhancing user experience while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Web / Digital Content Creation & Management :
- Create, manage, and organize web content for the Illinois Human Resources website. This includes developing engaging content, updating existing material, and ensuring that all content aligns with the department’s goals and objectives.
- Maintain all web and brand standards of both the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Illinois Human Resources.
- Alert content providers of outdated or incorrect information requiring archiving, deletion or updating, or if material is inappropriate or inconsistent with college mission, identity, image, or web standards, and monitor the site for timeliness, consistency, and navigational effectiveness.
- Maintain protocol for submitting both new and revised content.
- Serve as liaison between content providers and MarCom team in matters of web content.
- Implement SEO best practices.
- Conduct usability studies with MarCom.
- Maintain all listservs and mailing lists for IHR.
- Create, coordinate, and manage monthly bulletins / newsletters for areas within IHR.
- Maintain the jobs.illinois.edu website.
- Provide writing and editing support for the department’s website, including proofreading content for clarity, grammar, and punctuation, and making necessary revisions to enhance readability.
- Enhance the user experience on the website by analyzing user feedback, monitoring website performance, and making necessary adjustments to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
- Utilize Google Analytics to monitor and analyze website traffic and user behavior, providing insights to improve content effectiveness and user engagement.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after February 16, 2025. The previously determined salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. Hybrid work options are available for this position. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
