What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histology Technician position at Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana?
We are seeking a certified Histotech to join our fast-paced dermatology/Mohs practice. The successful candidate has expertise in performing analytical techniques on tissue samples in order to identify disease pathology. The Histotech works closely with a team of medical specialists to provide accurate and timely diagnoses. This position is from 6:45am-3:15pm.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare frozen section samples for examination during Mohs surgery.
- Prepare permanent section samples for examination.
- Perform tissue dissections to prepare slides for examination.
Qualifications
- Proficient in specimen collection and processing techniques
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of physiology and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with phlebotomy practices
- Clinical or research laboratory experience is a must
License/Certification:
- HT Certification (Required)
