About the Job:
This person plans and designs manufacturing processes in the production facility. This includes maximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization and determining parts and tools needed in order to achieve laser manufacturing goals according to product specification. This position will work closely with other departments as follows:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manager of laser technology: research laser technologies, new product development, and work to acquire new customer / marketplace opportunities
- Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the facility and employees.
- Develop part quotes by estimating labor requirements, production times, and material requirements.
- Create and update work instructions as required.
- Review engineering prints and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to other personnel.
- Part Fixturing; locating parts in a precise and repeatable manner for laser processing.
- Automation control; part fixturing and mounting parts so that they are moved in a controlled manner for laser processing.
- Provide general support to all departments as required.
- Miscellaneous special projects
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Experience:
- Experience with lasers and laser systems
- AUTOCAD Knowledge
- Ability to work within ERP/MRP systems
- CNC Programming Knowledge
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Leadership experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to monitor laser system outputs, gather information and perform data analysis
- Ability to read and understand a blueprint or CAD drawing software
- Ability to learn new software
- Ability to comprehend and follow document work instructions, standard operating procedures and training documents
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paper-work
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Good shop/mechanical skills; machining and tooling
- Time management skills and ability to multitask

As a full-time employee you are eligible for company sponsored benefits. You will accrue MN ESST per hour worked. Full time is regularly scheduled 32 hours every week.
