Office/warehouse environment is both a controlled and uncontrolled atmosphere building. The manufacturing environment you will be exposed to dust, odors, and noise. Extensive visits to the outdoor shipping dock and holding yard required.

A receiving clerk is responsible for verifying and processing incoming shipments to a warehouse of facility, including unloading deliveries, checking items against purchase orders and packing slips, inspecting for damage, updating inventory records, and storing received goods in designated locations, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of merchandise while maintaining proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling pick ups
- Take orders, process them through SMS system. Identify if the order should be shipped as a small parcel, LTL Volume LTL or TL.
- Call and schedule pickups. Ensure orders are built correctly, quantity and type of product.
- Generate packing slips and BOL. Have the driver sign correct copies. Make sure the driver has the correct paperwork, and we have ours. Make sure packing slips are sent with load.
- Be able to ship all small parcel orders, use FedEx computers when necessary to generate labels. Place packages in an appropriate location for pickup.
- Be able to use FedEx computers for foreign shipments (Canada, China etc.) Produce appropriate customs paperwork.
- Guiding staff to get orders ready, helping to assign lift drivers work.
- Accurately record interdepartmental shipments, total up items, scan paperwork and send to appropriate parties
- Unloading deliveries: Physically unloading shipments from trucks using forklifts or hand trucks, as needed.
- Verifying accuracy: Comparing packing slips and invoices to purchase orders to ensure the correct items and quantities are received.
- Inspecting goods: Examining deliveries for damage or defects during the receiving process.
- Inventory Management: Updating inventory records with details of received items in the company database.
- Stock storage: Properly storing received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Reporting discrepancies: Identifying and reporting any discrepancies or issues with shipments to the appropriate personnel.
- Paperwork processing: Completing receiving documents, including signing for deliveries and documenting any damage.
- Communication with company purchaser: Advising company purchaser when inventory of items are getting low.
- Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping the receiving area organized and clean.
- Outgoing Shipments: Package and label outgoing shipments.
- Coordinating with carriers: Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Attention to detail: Accurately checking quantities and identifying errors on shipments.
- Basic math skills: Calculating quantities and verifying invoice accuracy.
- Physical ability: Lifting and moving boxes or heavy items.
- Computer proficiency: Using warehouse management system to update inventory and track shipments.
- Forklift operation: Ability to operate a forklift, if required
- Communication skills: Effectively communicating with warehouse staff, vendors, and supervisors.
