Job Description
This is a full-time faculty position at Lassen Community College District. The successful candidate will provide instruction in mathematics, including collegiate transfer and pre-collegiate basic skills courses. The assignments may include day, evening, online, and/or hybrid teaching.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics, or a Bachelor's degree in mathematics with a Master's degree in statistics, physics, or mathematics education. Alternatively, the equivalent Master's degree is also acceptable.
The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing assigned classes in accordance with the course outline of record. They will provide dynamic instruction, engage student interest using current and effective methods, and meet faculty responsibilities as outlined in the faculty contract. Other duties include maintaining accurate records, demonstrating continuing education, and serving on committees.
Knowledge of technological developments and ability to work with designated computer programs are essential. The successful candidate must also demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of students, staff, and the public. Additionally, they should have knowledge of the history and culture of underrepresented groups and those that have experienced discrimination.
