Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for entering all cash receipts, credit memos, and various other accounts receivable functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable aging for certain customers, receiving incoming customer payments, entering cash receipts and completing bank deposits.
- Communicating with customers (verbally, via email, letter, or fax) to reconcile customer accounts.
- Research, verify, and analyze returns, proof of delivery, shortages and allowances with customer service, shipping and sales reps.
- Credit Memo Analysis Report
- Responsible for such other duties and assignments which the company deems appropriate.
- Customer Statements
- Supervalu backup
- Vendor deductions
- Accounting clerical duties such as making collections phone calls and sending out past due correspondence and scanning documents into work flow.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings and will be required to prepare various excel reports.
- All other necessary duties as assigned by Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree and/or 2 - 3 years’ experience in collections preferred
- Basic Bookkeeping Knowledge a plus
- Credit and Debit payments
- General ledger codes
- Bank and financial background checks
- Auto clearinghouse and EDI
- Receivables in a retail and/or wholesale environment
- Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheets. Great Plains Dynamics Software preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, customer service, and oral/written communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and problem solve in a calm professional manner
- Regularly required to talk, hear and see. Frequently required to sit, stand; walk; manual dexterity; and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to reach, lift, bend knees, stoop, climb and push or pull items weighing 25 lbs. or less
- Ability to travel in plane, train or car if necessary
