Job Summary:
Manages immediate supplier on-time delivery recovery through on-site field presence at suppliers’ production facility, to secure Latécoère short-term deliveries to Customer. Fosters supplier executive leadership engagement to recover and sustain delivery performance with Latécoère Aerostructures (AS).
Involves frequent travel and extensive on-site presence at suppliers’ facilities, located mostly in the USA, Canada, and Northern Mexico.
Manages the Supplier Performance Management [SPM] group to identify risk items to mitigate in the long term: Supplier panel risk assessment, Surveillance plan definition and monitoring, etc.
Essential Duties:
The followings activities could be performed with Latecoere Aerostructures:
- Spearheads and monitors implementation of delivery recovery plans, seeking active involvement and leadership of supplier management teams, to secure on time delivery requirements.
- Seeks immediate remediation of critical shortages and potential future misses:
- Obtains root cause identification and mitigation through the supply chain and production cycle, up to the delivery point
- Drives supplier production planning priorities and tracking for critical parts, including at supplier’s tier suppliers
- Mandates relevant indicators and dashboards
- May involve hands-on travel of parts in custom-critical cases
- Leads the escalations and reports the crisis management status to involved functions (Purchasing, Program…), to the top management and to the customer as required.
- Coordinates longer term recovery in coordination with the Purchasing group:
- Identifies supplier production bottlenecks and potential capacity shortages
- Fosters optimized logistics terms between supplier and Latécoère (lead time, MOQ, packaging) as need be
- Help define Kaizen priorities at suppliers with a view to optimize processes, tools and interfaces, to warrant future delivery performance with AS.
- Analyses the supplier OTD metric. Supports the KPI perfection. Implements OTD reviews with poor performer suppliers to rectify and improve Supply Chain resilience.
- Manages the supplier base risk assessment, maintains a risk register and defines a supplier surveillance plan that supports Supply Chain de-risking
- Provides strong recommendations to the optimization of the procurement process in close relation with the other involved functions. This is to support the organization improve and fine tune its sourcing strategy.
- Be a force of proposal to define, implement and monitor the function tools and KPIs.
