About the Role
The Business Development Specialist – Litigation & Trial is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team and will be responsible for working in close collaboration with the Litigation & Trial Business Development (BD) team, key market leaders, and colleagues across the Business Development department to support the Litigation & Trial department’s overall marketing and business development goals.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing research, analysis, and reports to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Supporting the implementation of business development tactics and initiatives in alignment with the strategic objectives of practices, markets, relevant industry sectors, and/or clients as assigned
- Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies, including collaborating with relevant BD and Business Services teams
- Coordinating the research of markets, competition, and conflicts for the department and practice groups to drive strategy
- Collaborating with lawyers, BD, and Brand & Communications, and other Business Services teams on speaking opportunities, webinars, and other strategic initiatives
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

- Demonstrate the ability to use a high degree of discretion and judgment when handling firm information
- Display the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively
- Possess exceptional oral/written communication and professional interpersonal skills
And have:
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing or business, preferably
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting litigation practice areas, preferably
