About the Role
The Global Human Resources Specialist – HR Compliance is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talent team and will be responsible for assisting in developing and administering human resources programs and processes to ensure the organization remains in compliance with all applicable legal regulatory requirements at the state, federal, and global levels, while facilitating the I-9 and E-Verify processes through system administration and acting as a resource to the office HR teams. This role will be located in either our Global Services Office in downtown Los Angeles or our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and responding to cases in the ticketing system
- Maintaining legal posting notices site(s) and notifying HR teams of relevant updates
- Submitting compliance reporting (e.g., EEO-1, Pay Data Reporting, Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting, etc.) and responding to state and federal survey requests
- Participating in projects to implement new policies, processes, and systems that support the tracking and administration of human resources compliance-related matters
- Assisting with legal research and analysis to ensure the firm is compliant with relevant legislation, implementing and communicating those updates in collaboration with the relevant parties
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and apply federal, state, and local employment laws or court precedents, including OSHA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, ADEA, and FMLA
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of traditional human resources functions
- Display the ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making the majority of decisions
And have:
• A high school diploma or an equivalent• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent, preferably• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Human Resources• Experience in human resources compliance, preferably
