About The Role
The Business Development Specialist – Litigation & Trial is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team and will be responsible for working in close collaboration with the Litigation & Trial Business Development (BD) team, key market leaders, and colleagues across the Business Development department to support the Litigation & Trial department’s overall marketing and business development goals. This role will be located in our Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. offices. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing research, analysis, and reports to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Supporting the implementation of business development tactics and initiatives in alignment with the strategic objectives of practices, markets, relevant industry sectors, and/or clients as assigned
- Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies, including collaborating with relevant BD and Business Services teams
- Coordinating the research of markets, competition, and conflicts for the department and practice groups to drive strategy
- Collaborating with lawyers, BD, Brand & Communications, and other Business Services teams on speaking opportunities, webinars, and other strategic initiatives
- Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
- Demonstrate the ability to use a high degree of discretion and judgment when handling firm information
- Display the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively
- Possess exceptional oral/written communication and professional interpersonal skills
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing or business, preferably
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience within a law firm or professional services environment
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting litigation practice areas, preferably
