Job Overview
The BASE Assistant Director plays a key role in supporting the Director in the overall management of LAMB’s Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) programs. This includes ensuring smooth daily operations, supervising staff, coordinating enrichment opportunities, maintaining compliance, and fostering strong relationships with students, staff, and families. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director to develop a high-quality, engaging, and well-organized program that aligns with LAMB’s mission and values.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing a vision and plan for LAMB’s BASE programs (before-care, aftercare, enrichment, and summer) that provide an enriching experience for students.
- Support daily program operations, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
- Oversee afterschool enrichment classes for BASE and non-BASE students.
- Co-plan and support the BASE Summer Program.
- Manage student enrollment, attendance tracking, and program scheduling.
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to BASE staff to ensure high-quality programming.
- Assist in managing staff schedules, time-off requests, and daily staffing needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and program updates.
- Address student behavioral and developmental concerns in collaboration with the Director and classroom teachers.
- Assist in maintaining necessary supplies, equipment, and classroom space.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Manage late pick-up procedures and oversee a safe and supervised dismissal process.
- Support planning and coordination of LAMB’s annual International Day.
- Attend mandated program meetings and required professional development training.
- Implement and maintain health and emergency plans/files.
- Supervise BASE staff, contractors, and program volunteers/interns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably in program leadership or management.
- Experience in after-school program administration and enrichment programming preferred.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred; bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar systems.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

Schedule: 12-month full-time position (9:45 am - 6:00 pm)
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $70,000-$95,000 per year.
