CANDIDATE PROFILE
Latino Network seeks a bilingual, bi-cultural mission-driven professional with proven nonprofit and community experience to lead a full range of activities for a growing organization. As part of a dedicated Economic Justice team at Latino Network, the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) Career Coach will work in concert with Latino Network staff and community partners to provide career coaching and support to participants throughout their enrollment in the program.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the directions of the Talent Development Program Manager the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) will recruit and enroll eligible participants for training in Clean Energy sector careers. The Coach will draw upon the knowledge of the green sector to assist in developing career pathways for eligible participants from priority populations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a representative of the PCEF program and its partners. Serve as the initial point of contact for all potential participants, providing access to and expertise about the services available.Act in a professional and positive manner; provide accurate information, polished written materials, and expert technical assistance .Recruit and prepare eligible participants for grant-funded training services.Data entry into Latino Network case management software as well as I-Trac database.Attend Economic Justice Department staff meetings, monthly all staff meetings, and all trainings as required.Submit accurate, timely quarterly and other reports as requested by Program Manager.Perform fiscal admin duties to ensure participant expenses are compliant with funding guidelines and are appropriately tracked and allocated.Collaborate with the Talent Development Program Manager to identify new funding needs for enrolled participants.Provide career coaching to assist participants plan and prepare for entry into training activities / services, including the provision of necessary support services.Refer appropriate participants for engagement in occupational skills and On-the-Job Training in the clean energy industry.Provide career coaching to participants to ensure completion of occupational skills training and assist in placement in unsubsidized and training-related employment upon completion.Implement required program elements as defined by program standards provided by Latino Network. Participate in regional meetings to share program information and best practices, and to identify technical assistance needs.Conduct outreach, recruit, and provide orientation to potential program participants in line with established program standards and procedures.Verify and document participant eligibility in accordance with guidelines, and ensure that participants sign a media / photo release form.Coordinate and provide Career Coaching to participants throughout their enrollment in grant, including Career Mapping, Career, and Resource Plan development, connection to internal and community support / referral, guidance and support for participants in postsecondary training programs, employer outreach, and job readiness training and placement.Make final enrollment decision and complete enrollment process for participants determined eligible and assessed appropriate for PCEF services through the orientation and enrollment process, making efforts to minimize time between initiative orientation and enrollment.Maintain regular contact with participants during program participation, including training and placement.Conduct and record employment and reputation confirmations.Assist in the execution of special assignments, including compiling and analyzing data to ensure that the information is accurate.Ensure the accuracy of department reports, publications, and other documents that include proprietary and confidential information.Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required. Preferred in Energy, Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Design, Engineering, Science, and Sustainability; or a combination of relevant education and work and life experience.At least two years of experience in clean energy, green infrastructure, or regenerative agriculture projects.Knowledge and ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret budgets.Experience working with multiple calendars, competing interests, and priorities.Demonstrate experience working with complex systems, agencies, and organizations.Experience working with the public and excellent customer service skills.Ability to be flexible, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.Demonstrate expertise in assisting individuals to develop employment, training, and supportive service plans, and providing on-going support as they work to achieve employment goals.Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English (including public speaking).Knowledge and experience using data systems and technology.Demonstrate ability to work independently and work as a collaborative team member.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to employ critical thinking and confidence in decision-making and carrying out actions.Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with funders, community partners, client families, and coworkers, including those from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds, abilities, gender identities, and sexuality.Knowledge of and experience in trauma informed care, case management, direct client services, and assertive engagementRespect for diversity; desire and ability to work cross-culturally.Knowledge of culturally based world-view and problem solving practices of Latino individuals and families in urban neighborhoods impacted by racial inequity, poverty, and structural barriers required, bicultural preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
