Job Summary
Organization: Latino U College Access (LUCA) is a college access and success nonprofit organization in Westchester County, NY, whose mission is to empower first-generation Latino students on their journeys to and through college so they can fulfill their remarkable potential.
Position: LUCA is seeking a manager with a strong background working with college-aged students to join our Program Team. The College Success Program Manager's primary role will be to support LUCA’s College Scholars' successful college completion. The Manager will develop and implement programs that increase retention and the college graduation rate of Latino U Scholars by engaging them through their college years. They will also support current high school Scholars in their transition from high school to college and the development of career skills required for entry into the workplace.
Reports to: AssociateDirector of Programs
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of College Scholars, track their progress, identify barriers, and implement support to ensure successful degree completion
- Support transition to college for graduating high school seniors and engage families in supporting Scholars’ success
- Manage the growth of our College Scholars and prepare them for college and career success
- Build authentic relationships with College Scholars with personalized guidance on academic and non-academic challenges
- Develop and facilitate workshops for College Scholars focused on social-emotional, college success, and career readiness skills
- Build relationships with corporations and businesses to share internship, mentorship, and networking opportunities for Scholars
- Plan and implement special events, activities, and communications to ensure College Scholars remain engaged and connected
- Design and deliver parent workshops exploring the college experience and provide strategies to support student success
- Strengthen and sustain LUCA's alumni network by fostering connections and ensuring ongoing engagement for career development and community building
- Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes and utilize data for program decision-making and improvement
- Prepare regular impact and participation reports for funders and stakeholders
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate studies in social work, counseling, education, or related fields a plus
- 3 years of college success experience with first-gen students, including academic, emotional, financial, & cultural consideration
- Exceptional problem-solver, self-starter, quick learner, and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, and nimbly handle changing priorities
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Experienced facilitator delivering training and workshops for students, families, or volunteers
- Strong collaborator; excited to engage staff, community leaders, corporate partners, and college administrators
- Demonstrate ability to work well with diverse constituents and form strong relationships with college-aged youth
- Mastery and comfort with technology; including Google Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and Salesforce
- Flexibility for evenings or weekends to deliver programming as required, either in-person or virtually via Zoom
- Bilingual English / Spanish a plus but not required
