What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer 2025 LAWbound position at LatinoJustice PRLDEF?
LAWbound is part of the Cesar A. Perales (CAP) Leadership Institute that works to increase the legal profession pipeline for first-generation college students, students from immigrant households and those from underrepresented communities. The LAWbound program provides targeted services during a week long course that address some of the most common barriers to admission to law school.
A LAWbound scholar can be a current college student or recent college graduate that has not applied to law school. Program participants will receive reading materials to prepare for the weeklong course.
Program Eligibility Requirements:
- Demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a legal education
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate program or recent graduate, pre-law; 1-2 years out from applying to law school.
- Demonstrate strong academic potential
- Submission of a Personal Statement and resume
- When prompted to upload your resume please include a Personal Statement in the Additional Documents section.
- Applicants should use their personal statements as an opportunity to share their story, highlight their motivations, and demonstrate why they are a strong candidate for this program and for law school in general.
Applicants must be able to attend the full prep program that takes place from Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 2025, with daily programming from 12:00 - 5:00pm ET. Please note that you will be asked to submit a personal statement, resume, and recommendation letter with your application.
Please note the program will be hybrid, strongly encouraging local participants to join in person.
