Position Title: Community Outreach Specialist
Organization: Latinx Therapist Project CO
Location: Adams County, Colorado Type/Duration: Part-time, Temporary (January 2025 - June 2026)
Pay Range: $20-$21 per hour,
Hours: 10 hours per week
Reports To: Director of Programs and Development
About Us: Latinx Therapist Project CO (LTP), a project under Colorado Nonprofit Development Center (CNDC), is dedicated to increasing the number of mental health care providers serving the Latinx Spanish-speaking community. We aim to empower the next generation of Latinx therapists through recruitment, mentorship, and community partnerships.
Position Overview: The Community Outreach Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the Latinx Therapist Project CO's mission by building connections with mental health providers, primary care physicians, educational institutions, and community organizations within Adams County. This role is essential in expanding the project’s reach, increasing participation in events, informing students about internship opportunities and the depth of mental health careers. Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate will be someone who has a lot of initiative, is self-motivated and self-led, and is comfortable with building new and existing relationships. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with working remote or in a hybrid environment and has access to a comfortable home office space environment. Key Responsibilities:
● Provider Engagement: Contact mental health providers in Adams County to include them in the organization's database of service providers.
● Conference Coordination: Secure participation from various organizations for conference event programming.
● Student Outreach: Reach out to high schools in Adams County to invite students to attend the conference.
● Academic Institution Engagement: Contact undergraduate and graduate institutions to inform students about the conference and available internship programs.
● Organization engagement: Contact nonprofits and healthcare organizations that align with LTPs mission to include them in programming, outreach efforts, etc
Essential Job Functions:
1. Building Relationships: Establishing and maintaining connections with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
2. Community Outreach: Establish and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and local businesses. Conduct outreach activities to promote programs, and ensure community awareness and participation.
3. Outreach and Education: Conducting presentations, and training sessions to educate the community on various topics, such as opportunities in mental health and available resources.
4. Marketing and Promotion: Creating marketing materials and promotional campaigns to raise awareness about programs and events.
5. Administrative Duties: Organizing reports, managing participant lists, and handling other clerical tasks to ensure smooth program operations.
6. Collaboration: Working with other professionals and organizations to develop best practices and implement effective outreach strategies.
7. Program Coordination: Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of community programs and events. Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the successful execution of initiatives.
8. Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and concerns of the community within the organization. Ensure that community voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
9. Partnership Building: Develop and nurture partnerships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
10. Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on community needs, program outcomes, and participation rates. Prepare reports and presentations to share insights and demonstrate the impact of initiatives.
