We are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team.

Latitude Corp. is a 100% employee-owned company the specializing in providing metal solutions from machining, fabrication and welding to coatings and assembly. The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager – Manning, South Carolina, will be responsible for overseeing the Environmental, Health and Safety of the Manning facilities. A significant responsibility of the role will be managing the wastewater disposal including performing analysis, making required adjustments and maintaining accurate records before sending the wastewater to drain. This position will also develop, implement, and maintain the Health and Safety programs for the Manning facilities and provide back-up EHS support and wastewater expertise to other company locations. This person also acts as a liaison between regulatory agencies and organizations, correct employees on unsafe work practices, and is the point of contact for external EHS-related audits.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program at the Manning, SC location. Authorized to serve as company liaison with regulatory agencies. Authorized to decide when wastewater is able to be sent to drain and make needed adjustments to ensure compliance. Authorized to apply for needed environmental permits. Responsible for completing and submitting all required Federal, State and Local EHS-related reporting. Responsible to stop unsafe work practices. Responsible for identifying EHS-related equipment, including PPE, needs.
- Define, document and maintain a comprehensive EHS program to include training employees in relevant laws, rules and regulations specific for each position that ensures Latitude Corp meets its goals.
- Utilize risk assessment and compliance evaluation to lead continuous improvement initiatives that minimize environmental impacts
- Perform chemical analysis and make required adjustments to neutralize wastewater for disposal.
- Serve as the company’s expert for wastewater analysis and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with air emissions, wastewater, waste, storm-water and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits.
- Apply for environmental permits associated with our waste water and other environmental areas.
- Provide required Federal, State, and local reporting including but not limited to USEPA, EPCARA, TIR, Tier II, and state mandated permit reporting.
- Develop and maintain relationship with Plant Managers and other EHS professionals to support their success in environmental compliance, performance and sustainability initiative
- Handle regulatory questions and analyze activities at all Manning, SC locations ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Conduct required EHS related training.
- Perform internal audits to ensure compliance policies and procedures.
- Proactively work with regulatory agencies to learn about upcoming changes and prepare the organization to meet those changes
- Serve as the liaison between the company and regulatory agencies, including OSHA, as well as the point of contact for any investigations and the lead to implement corrective actions when violations have occurred.
- Provide strategic environmental support and regulatory review for future business growth and expansion.
- Oversee the management of safety equipment, requisition supplies, and coordinate administrative activities as required.
- Communicate and implement best practices.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience operating Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy and evaluating the results
- Technical expertise in Occupational and Environmental Laws and Regulations.
- Ability to effectively analyze and interpret facility activities regarding occupational and environmental laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Experience with all aspects of EHS:
- Waste Water analysis and removal;
- Environmental permitting;
- Job Hazard Analyses;
- OSHA reporting, audits and response;
- Regulatory landscape of the metal solutions industry;
- Personal Protective Equipment;
- Industrial Hygiene Monitoring and Reporting;
- Ergonomics Evaluations and Reporting;
- Hazardous Waste Inventories and Management;
- Energy Control or Lockout/Tagout (LOTO);
- Illness and Injury Prevention Plans (IIPP);
- Incident Investigation and Reporting;
- Machine Guarding;
- Training on new regulations;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills;
- Ability to lead and manage projects from start to completion.
- Ability to design training programs to train employees in relevant laws, rules and regulations specific for each position in the organization.
- Experience in corrective action and disciplined problem-solving methodology.
- Experience using MRP system. Epicor preferred.
- Experience with KSA, preferred.
Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline an accredited school
- At least 5 years related industry experience with knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Certified as an Operator-in-Charge at a level “C” licensure or better is required.
- NPDES and POTW requirement knowledge, preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation and CPR/First Aid certification, preferred
