Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Technician with experience in copper and fiber termination and testing to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and maintaining structured cabling systems to support data, voice, and video communications. This role requires hands-on expertise in handling copper and fiber optic cables, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. This position involves national travel, all travel expenses paid for plus per diem.
Active clearance or ability to obtain clearance required.
\n- Installation & Termination:
- Install, terminate, and label copper and fiber optic cables, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and single-mode/multi-mode fiber.
- Perform field terminations using standard connectors such as RJ45, LC, SC, and MPO.
- Testing & Troubleshooting:
- Test and certify installed cables using industry-standard tools (e.g., Fluke testers, OTDR).
- Diagnose and repair connectivity issues in both copper and fiber systems.
- System Maintenance & Documentation:
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade cabling infrastructure as needed.
- Update and maintain accurate records, including cabling diagrams, test results, and equipment inventory.
- Adherence to Standards:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSI) and safety protocols during installation and maintenance.
- Follow company guidelines for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, network engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of cabling systems.
- Provide guidance to junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
Salary : $20 - $33
