We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and electronic assembly processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing operations, improving product quality, and supporting the production line for electronic assemblies. This role requires a deep understanding of SMT processes, electronic component handling, process improvements, and troubleshooting, ensuring high-quality and efficient production.
\n- Develop and optimize SMT and electronic assembly processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Design, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and workflows for SMT and electronic assembly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of design and manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SMT processes, including component placement, soldering, and reflow soldering.
- Conduct regular process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Work closely with suppliers to select, qualify, and integrate new materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving assembly and process-related problems on the production floor.
- Work with quality assurance teams to define and enforce inspection and testing criteria for products.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation for SMT and assembly processes.
- Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, cost reduction opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects, to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Train and mentor manufacturing staff on process improvements, new technologies, and best practices.
- Support the validation and qualification of new equipment, tools, and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically within SMT and electronic assembly processes.
- Strong knowledge of SMT equipment, soldering, reflow soldering, PCB design, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with automated and manual assembly processes in electronics manufacturing.
- Proficient in using CAD tools, PCB design software, and other engineering software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and quality practices, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721.
