A Proposal Manager is needed to support the Business Development (BD) team, responsible for developing compliant, high-quality, and timely proposal content for DoD and Federal customers. This is a hybrid, full-time, mid-level role, primarily performed remotely, with occasional travel to the National Capital area. The position requires strong proposal management knowledge, with the ability to apply new concepts and skills throughout the proposal lifecycle.
\n- Minimum of 8 years of experience writing and managing proposals for major Federal agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Professional Writing, Creative Writing, or a related field (or an additional 4 years of experience in proposal writing/managing may be substituted for the degree).
- Expert skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in project management functions, including resource planning, scheduling, and task delegation.
- Proficiency in technical writing/editing.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of version control management practices and technologies.
- Ability to obtain a US DoD Government Clearance at Secret level or higher.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Manage and lead proposal efforts throughout the entire proposal lifecycle.
- Coordinate efforts across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organize and manage meetings.
- Train, coach, and mentor BD team members.
- Plan, schedule, and manage proposal development efforts and proposal plans.
- Create and maintain a proposal filing system in a SharePoint portal.
- Develop document outlines and compliance matrices.
- Create writing templates, outlines, PowerPoint slides, schedules, and other tools to ensure quality results.
- Document and maintain proposal processes.
- Ensure proposal compliance and responsiveness.
- Ensure proposal materials are properly formatted for final production/submission.
- Edit proposal sections per internal corporate writing guidelines.
- Create document content through interviews with subject matter experts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
