We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. This role involves creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation to support our clients in the federal or state government sector. The ideal candidate will have experience in producing technical documentation for complex systems, processes, or products, and will collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language.
\n- Documentation Development: Write, edit, and maintain a variety of technical documents, including user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical specifications, training materials, and system documentation.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with engineers, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy and clarity of technical content.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all documentation meets the relevant government standards and compliance requirements (e.g., Section 508, NIST, and other federal regulations).
- Technical Analysis: Analyze complex technical content and break it down into simple, understandable terms for diverse audiences, including non-technical users and government personnel.
- Content Management: Organize and manage document repositories, ensuring all documents are version-controlled, up to date, and accessible to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Proofreading and Quality Control: Review and revise documents for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and formatting before submission or publication.
- Technical Research: Stay up-to-date with evolving technologies and government requirements to incorporate into documentation and improve content accuracy.
- Documentation Tools: Utilize various technical writing tools and software, such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or Microsoft Word, to create and publish documentation.
- Project Support: Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial drafting to final review, ensuring that documents meet project timelines and milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 4 years’ experience in technical writing, proofing and editing (white paper, manuals, instructions, etc.)
- Experience working with government organizations
- Active Secret Clearance Required
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
